The City attorney shall advise the Board in all matters pertaining to their duties
in the administration of the Fund, whenever requested; and shall represent and defend
the Board in all suits and actions at law, or in equity, that may be brought against
it; and shall bring all suits and actions in its behalf that may be determined upon
by the Board. Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, the Board may elect
to employ independent legal counsel as it deems necessary.
